2-Channel Electrode System

2-Channel Electrode System

2-Channel Electrode Systems

For small and larger animals

Two stainless steel or platinum wire electrodes extend below a threaded plastic pedestal. The electrodes are individually insulated and are supplied twisted or untwisted. Use Cerebond with mounting screws, or dental cement with mounting screws, to secure the pedestal. The electrodes for larger animals are identical to those used for small animals except that these have a taller plastic pedestal. This size must be ordered if using MH-325 mounting holder to record while implanting.

Subcutaneous

Subcutaneous systems are typically used for lesioning or for measuring bioelectrical potentials such as EKG and EMG. They can also serve as connecting leads to other implanted devices such as thermistors.
They all use the 305 plug.

Subcutaneous Electrode Unit
The electrodes extend from the side of the square base with a round threaded pedestal at the top. They consist of two closely wound coil springs encased in silicone rubber tubing similar to pacemaker leads.
This is a head-mounted unit secured with screws, Cerebond or dental cement.

Connector Pedestal
Two stainless steel tubes covered with silicone rubber project from the side of the square base with a round threaded pedestal at the top. Leads are inserted into the tubes and crimped. This is also a head-mounted unit secured with screws, Cerebond or dental cement.

Electrode with Suture Pads
Two stranded stainless steel wires are terminated with suture pads and extend below a cylindrical plastic pedestal. The wires are individually insulated and can be ordered at different lengths. The pedestal is secured with screws, Cerebond or dental cement.

2-Channel with ground & concentric

The 2-channel with ground allows a ground wire with your 2-channel electrode. The two twisted wires are insulated, and the ground wire is not insulated.
The concentric electrode permits more accurate electrode placement at deep sites. The outer electrode extends below a threaded plastic pedestal. The inner electrode is an insulated wire within the outer tubing electrode and projects beyond it. The threaded plastic pedestal accepts the screw-on 306 plug of the connector cable. Secured with screws, Cerebond or dental cement.
